I can't rememeber if Ive ever posted in the "finds" before so here goes:
Tim and I scored 2,500 records and 500 45's for a Nice Price this weekend. We just started gong through them, and half of them are at my dads as we have run out of room at our place.
After going through things for awhile Tim came across a box of 45's that looked interesting but I am not knowlegable in this department.
Here are some of the titles we pulled out:
The Midnighters : Sexy Ways on Federal James Brown : Please Please Please on Federal Isley Bro. Without a song on RCA Jerry Lee Lewis on Sun The Crows on Rama Del Shannon on Big Top Buddy Fite on Cyclone Nina Stern on Jerden The Echoes on Smash The Chestnuts on Mercury Clarence Ashe on Chess Al Fredd on Yes Gracie Fields on London ( WLP) Billy Stewart on Chess Bruce Johnson on Donna Margaret Whiting on London Wilbert Harrison on Savoy Chuck Berry on Chess
Like I said I dont know much about 45's, but these appear to be in really nice condition. I havent had time to listen to very many of them as Ive been consumed with the waxidermy friendly finds in the batch.
As much as I champion Easy Listening records, Mantiovani is generally bad. Really bad.
One of these days when I'm not so lazy I'll post up some really good easy listening records. In the meantime, avoid mantiovani. Buy Bert Kaempfert instead.
Scored way more Poly Rythmo LPs and 45s to count. Finaly scored the LP Vol.1 on Albarika Store with all the really tough hard as nails early voodoo funk tracks in EX condition
also found the amazing Honore Avalonto & Black Santiagos
Too much other stuff to mention, I'll post some pics and get a new mix ready once I'm back at Conakry.
