DV CAMERA-Documentary/Interview/Broadcast Quality?

I know we've had a decent amount of still-camera recommendation threads. I was hoping to get some advice on a DV camera that will be "Broadcast Quality on a budget." It will be primarily used for documentary film-making, interviews, and fuck-around vids. Thinking of spending around 1000-2500 bucks. I'm currently shooting with a Panasonic 3ccd compact, but need to step-up a bit. Any advice would be appreciated!

PD 170's are a little more current and a lot more expensive. I'd stick with the 150 for intterviews/ on location shoots
