portable turntable repair (new york related)

a year or so ago my portable turntable (a SKY Studio 830 - kind of like a soundburger with a recessed tape-deck) made a funny smell and stopped working. want to get it back in action and was wondering if anyone knows someone in the new york metro area who might know how to repair something like this...? any leads would be much appreciated...
