Haaaaaaa, that shit made laugh harder than Archaics posts!
Alright, DJ Dayboy.
This is great. Shiedboy.
Way to miss the joke there.

I don't get it.
Reading over this thread, I have a few comments.
HarvChaic didn't take those pics of Cham's plaque in Matt's office; they're from Matt's website. But I'm sure many of you were entertained by the thought of Harvey bustin' out a Project Blowed spy camera while Matt wasn't looking. I'll admit: it's an entertaining image.
Harv sent me an mp3 of some really, really good Austin rap the other day. He also followed it up with some interesting background info, like one of the dudes was class president at Reagan High, which admittedly will mean very little to most of you here, but I found it fascinating, and I appreciated both the song and the info.
Looking over this thread--and lemme thank all involved, because work's been driving me crazy and the diversion is much appreciated--I see that many of you have knee-jerk reactions to ol' HarveyBoy and can't see his posts for what they are. Not that I can always make heads or tails out of them, either....
But to continue rambling (and avoiding translating that last makeup section), I'll just say that Harv would probably catch more flies with honey. Then again, bullshit probably draws more flies than honey.
But ultimately, what the hell are you gonna do with all those flies?
And through my condescending tone, I'm actually hoping that some of you will reconsider your trickle-down approach to rap fandom.

DJ Dayboy (at least to me) approximates the reincarnation of DJ Greyboy.
Take it how you will.

crossing over every bit as disgustingly as a Will Smith with that anti-hardcore rap, candy-ass bullschitt that you keep supporting in favor of the local realness.
Alright, there's enough for y'all to throw hissy fits over for now.
Funny, but I don't remember Will Smith ever trying to front like he was hardcore or anything, so I'm not sure I get your point there. He might be too Hollywood to write his own rhymes nowadays, but he never pretended to be anything other than what he was. And it wasn't so much about him crossing over as him being the only one allowed to cross over.
If you want to interpret that as a "hissy fit", knock yourself out.

Indeed. like him or hate him, Will is one of the few rappers to never change his style to match whatever was popular at the time. He has the same schtick now that he had 20 years ago, and thats pretty impressive.

I know that dude. His name is Gary Miller and he's Uncle Fester's stand in and stunt double.

And in their haste to knock something on the basis that it's popular with the mainstream, some people seem to have forgotten that him & Jazzy Jeff made some fucking good records.
But yo - so "The Blackest Man on Soulstrut" is saying I'm Greyboy?
No, Archaic said it. Braux_Rillz was kinda defending you.

Yeah, I actually like a lot of Greyboy's stuff. In retrospect, possibly the lamest counter-dis I've ever lofted. You seem alright, Day. You just don't like me and that's fine.

There's nothing but Marines and tumbleweeds out there.

I don't know who or what "Greyboy" is--hence the apparently brutal dis going right by me.

I'll believe it when I have it in my hand.
I think the announcement of a release date for the last UGK album by Jive preceded its actual release by about two years.
Yeah but you're talking about Jive's reluctance to put it out, not UGK's. The album is complete.
It is, is it?
This is an almost Archaic-level display of Houston insiderism.
It is.
