On a related note, I think we can all agree that the
Rolling Stones didn't really hit their stride until the
Bridges to Babylon album, and that punk rock was
pretty much completely tepid until the arrival of Blink 182

Seriously, though, I guess I can see some people liking
the new-style Simpsons, especially if they "grew up with"
Family Guy, which the Simpsons shamelessly copy now.
Personally, I liked the Simpsons when each episode had
a plot and all the jokes related to it, instead of hundreds
of jokes coming from all directions, about random celebrities
and pop culture, ala Family Guy.

Yeah i know but i still don't agree to that, i think that was the case in season 13/14 but they developed it since IMO, the stories are fine for me to follow...

Also regarding rolling stones and all that i would say the stones are a half decent group with plenty of shelve music that's just basic

and i might also add that "sample and hold" is the best Neil Young track.

It's also like, how many times can you drive home the point that Homer is an idiot?
It just seemed to me like a lot of the later episodes relied too heavily on getting cheap laughs off of Homer's stupidity. After 15+ years I think we get it already.

The Simpsons hasn't been funny for ages.

The show has been straight garbage for about 8 or 9 seasons now. I can't understand how people tolerate the crap they put out now let alone like it after some of the classic stuff they have put out. The animation was quite amazing during the first half of the series. It used to have a lot of life to it and was extremely inventive. Now it's lifeless cookie-cutter shit.

As an addendum some of the newer jokes would work if the animation was better. The Simpsons was a blend of physical comedy and sharp wit. The writing lags and the animation does little to support it.
