Mic help

Anyone recommend any quality mics and compressors . I've used the russian Octava mk-319 in the past with success, but would like to try something new. Advise fam.

Well what's your budget? I use a Rode NT-1 into a Phatman compressor and I'm pretty happy. It didn't cost the earth and I've never had anything bad said about stuff I've tracked through it. Also, what are you recording? The mic game has gotten crazy lately, and you can get some good stuff. Check out sound on sound mag for the latest in audio nerdery.
