Alabama's interpretation of Baltimore Club music, better known as BAMABOUNCE, is the proud creation of relatively unknown but prodigiously talented Birmingham resident DJ Taj. Though greatly inspired by Baltimore Club, Taj???s take on the sound is sometimes at a faster tempo and steeped in a heavier dirty south influence, with clever uses of TV and R&B samples throughout. The record???s bold pink confederate flag symbolizes not only a geographic location but also a sexual freedom???the Bamabounce aesthetic is a welcome throwback to the legendary Miss Tony days of club music and classic house.
The Bamabounce EP (T&A 002) is filled to the brim with a diverse array of hard-hitting production. Leading the pack is ???Wu-Tang Slide,??? the anthemic soundtrack to the underground urban dance craze. Check YouTube and see how it???s going down???Taj has even uploaded his own homemade footage of the rapid fire dance moves for his percolating beat.. Next is the definitive club makeover of Cassie???s R&B smash ???Me And You???, backed by solid breaks and deavastating low end.
