Japanese scientists transferring data at 14 Tb/s[/b]Crazy high-speed news appeared on the website of japanese ISP called NTT. Nippon Telegraph and Telephone has announced data transmission at a rate of 14 terabits per second over a single optical fiber. The value of 14 Tbps (111 Gbps x 140 channels) greatlyexceeds the current record of about 10 Tbps and so claims the record of the world???s largest transmission capacity. They had to use a lot of special technologieslike wavelenght multiplexing or ultra-wide amplifiers to achieve such a speed....while searching for their website (http://www.ntt.co.jp) i find it to be offline. ...this was The Sunday NewsStrut, thank you very much and...until next time.
