The Knife are indeed Swedish and one of the best bands of our country, I think (if the electronic stuff's your cup of tea, that is). They started covering their faces recently, so people know what they look like - opininons differ on their respective hotness. The girl, Karin, has a really EXTREME form of stagefright, the masks might help out a bit. She was reportedly paralyzed temporarily before a gig with her former band, she literally couldn't move. I recommend the "Heartbeats" 45 to strutters who want an introduction to this local Swedish experience.

How do the Moonbabies stack up? The Orange Billboard was an excellent record. The EP was pretty good, can't wait for their new one.
Actually never heard of The Knife, will check them out.

go here and look down the page and you can download the better of their albums in my opinion, deep cuts. 'you take my breath away' is a bit of an anthem but is still goodness. my favourite is 'you make me like charity'...
"Young folks" by Peter, Bjorn and John feat Victoria Bergsman (from the Concretes) has been a hit in Sweden lately, I love the production and the whistle line even though the singing is sorta so-and-so (my biggest gripe with indie pop in general). By the way, the guy in the Knife djs sometimes and a bunch of my female friends are thouroghly and completely drooling over him, so it's safe to assume he's hot. Maybe he should be on the cover?
Don't know if Deep Cuts is just now breaking in the US, but the Knifes new album is called Silent Shout, this is the latest single off it: "We share our mothers health"

im from australia. no its been out for ages here. silent shout is not as good thats all.
The 45 of "Heartbeats" has The Knifes version on one side and Joses on the other, pretty cool. I can recommend seeing Jose or his band Junip live if you have the opportunity. Junip live is basically Jose Gonzales with drums and organ added... Niceness.
i coincidentally told a friend about 'heartbeats' the day this post was made. he asked me yesterday to recommend some more like it. anyone got any suggestions?

the knife tracks? if so then 'you take my breath away' is probably your best bet. i like 'you make me like charity' but it doesnt get much of a run by others.

no, not necessarily by knife. could be anything. my knowledge of good electronic-ish music is shallow. i do like 'take my breath away' though

By the way, the people of Sweden pride themselves on gender equality, so we'll have none of that good sir.

It's a killer track. I really dig You Take My Breath Away too.
I liked Deep Cuts more than Silent Shout.
Sweden's got some fucking great artists coming out at the moment.
You should all check out El Perro Del Mar.
thanks for the recommendation. anything else along the lines of this coming from sweden or elsewhere?
mate i've been there and seen the abundance of solariums and porn
