I'm on PokerStars.net with the jones. I placed 145th in that $2.5million tourney the other night and I am hooked.

  • Not poker but I'm a fiend for blackjack. I actually taught myself how to count cards.

  • My flatmate is addicted to it. Spends at least 5 hours on it every day. Its pretty good fun, but not as good as 'real' poker imo.

Did you cash then? How much?

  • Not much, because it's just play chips (like, 1400 or so). I needed to place higher to get into the second round, but I was pleased with my play. I felt my calls were getting better and all that as the tourney went on.

but yeah, playing in person is much more interesting.

  • I haven't played online in a while but I still enjoy it. I agree that it's no match for "live action".

That being said, if someone hooked up a private SS tourney on Party or Stars, I'd play.

It's pretty easy to at least cash in SNGs on Party. Tight is right.

    Plaese to explain.

  • jayboogie713 on pokerstars, im on there a lot.

I play no limit. Have to be able to punish the dummies. Play money is not the real. put $100 up and get familiar.

    Great idea.

  • i dont have any real money in my account right now, but i can and have put some in there.
right nopw i have about 80k, highest ever was 750k.

i'm all about omaha right now, love it mayn!!

put me down for anything poker related.

Yeah, I'm not talking about play money either. Although I prefer tourney play to cash games.

$10 buy-in Deep Stacks tourneys on Stars are the shit.

Gambit, I was just saying we could create an invite-only or password protected tourney and have an "SS only" tourney. If enough people respond I'll look into that...... But of course, it would be for "real money".

  • Last year I was playing live poker (casinos) on avg 40 hours a week and making more money than I do at my boring ass 40 hour a week desk job. Relying on making most of your money off of poker is too emotionally and physically taxing though.

Still, I'm down for anything poker and Soulstrut related, so count me in if you set anything up.

  • I'm always at www.pokerroom.com , NL texas hold em' is my game. They have others BJ, Omaha, etc....got about 3.8 mil in my account. (play money) of course, but you can play with real money if you choose. My name is "phil_ivey25".

Poker has helped me cope with life though, so has doing music though too. I view pasttimes the same. Patience is the highest virtue.
40 hours a week?! Shit... you the man.

Damn, I guess I have a project on my hands.

I don't know about these $100 games y'all cats are speaking of. Most of the time I play Texas Hold'em, since it has the easiest betting system. A $10 - 20 buy-in for the requisite 1500 chips would be more appropriate, I think. We're all friends, right? Do you really want to take my rent money from me?

Anyway, when I get back from Cedar Point this weekend, I'll work on this.

tourney style for low stakes with slowly rising blinds would be cool. I don't want no one getting ass hurt (especially me). BTW I am up $350 for the day.

I usually jump in $20 NL home games, but I could do this!

  • first annual deadmoneystrut?

  • Sup Gambit, I feel ya on the coping thing...it also created a few problems (mainly w/ my girl...like "hey baby I'll be home in about an hour" then 5 hours later, "sorry babe, I need to break even before i go") ya know stuff like that. I once put in a 35 hr session. I got a room for the night, but literally spent no more than 45 mins at a time there, so pretty much like 31 of the 35 hrs were spent at a table. I mainly play $10-20 limit (I've seen $1000 pots a few times) and $5-10 NL (obviously some serious action on that one). Music is a much more stable and overall rewarding outlet in the long run.

I think a $20 tourney is a good idea for the strut. I'm not a good online player honestly, but it would be fun.

  • It would be fun. I'll look into setting something up since the response is there.

I can do Stars or Party Poker. What sites do you all play?

Prefer a weekend tourney or weeknight tourney?

My votes would be, Stars on a weeknight.

I'd probably be down for this as well, I'm on Party Poker and Pokeroom but could join Stars too I guess. $20 buy in sounds like the right amount as well...

    Count me in.

I could do $20, but how often are you thinking of doing this??
If it was every week $20 would probably be too much.
If it was once a month that would be just right..

In my experience running small home tourneys and such.. a $10 buy-in will get you a lot more players than $20.. so if you wanted to get a LOT of people I would make it $10.

Do you know for sure you can set up a private tourney on PS? I've always wanted to do that but never new how.

Also, would it be open to friends and fam or strictly S-S peep holes??

    What's up BackSpin?

I'll check out both sites tonight and see what they offer on private tourneys. I was thinking a one or two table SNG. I guess it depends on what we could fill up though. I'm indifferent on the invites but at some point it might be cool just to have it be "Strutters" for smack talking rights. "Who won the tourney?" "Z***'s cousin." "oh."

hold'em is a ton of fun, online or live. i find myself making stupid mistakes playing online though. like i don't pay as much attention and rush my decisions.

    I do too.
I'm all for Hold'em tourney-style, of course. I'm with starting at $10, but I'd like to entertain the idea for a game or two at $20 for the more HeavySet .

  • Poker steez.

Suited gaps. Discuss. It's hard for me to get away from 'em. Especially in LP w/ an unraised pot.
