Quick MPC-2000 question

Every time I turn it on it says "Disk boot error"... I have tried a new system disk but it just says the same thing. Has anyone had this problem and know if this is maybe a disk drive gone bad? Is it just a standard drive I can pick up at any computer store? Thanks in advance.

the cable in your MPC might be loose at the connection on the board, happened to me a while ago, but does sound like the drive has gone, i think you can use normal PC Floppy drives, or take the opurtunity to put in a ZIP or Card Reader.i know in MPC 60's you had to alter jumpers at the back of old teac floppy drives to get them to work but i don't think you'll have to do that.
try and search in www.mpc-forums.com loads of knowledge there.
