how come people always say that as a prefix to saying something really racistexampleclub owner: i'm not a racist but you know the type of music they were playing here... the N*@@@ top 40 then he backtracks to "the only color i see is green"....uh-huh sure

    diffusing your own guilt with a statement like that makes one feel ok about the words that come out after.

    Real folks shouldn't worry so much about what they say, or if they do take the time to think out how they should say it.

    Or just not say it at all
