How is that Ken Boothe? It looks dope, but the few times
I've seen it in person they wanted big $$$ and I know I can cop
it relatively cheap on the Bay if I want...

    It's good, get it.

  • Bought a lot of records this weekend and this is the best (in terms of music quality at least). Unfortunately it was missing the cover and it's scratched but all the really good songs play fine! Heavy Afro-funk on here. I found it alongside a Ghanian pressing of Fela's Zombie at a yardsale down the street.

    All from local stores:

Most of this stuff was super cheap ie Blakey and Coleman for $1,
Linda Tillery for 2 bucks, etc and the Deadstock Rawkus Gold[/b]
was in the "free box" in front of a store - the psych stuff down bottom was
a bit more but still all decent prices - that Wailers psych album is
pretty damn good and definitely slept on. Lothar has some bugged out moog joints.

    Definitely not local or cheap:

    But

Another cheap local find, for $2:

Dope private Boston gospel joint from 1973 with
covers of "I'll Take You There" "Lean on Me" "Red Black & Green"
and a sick version of "Swing Low" with a CRAZY intro. Nice cover!

    Couple 45's from the mailbox:

Thanks to the hommie Spe*cer for this Bay classic!

I bid on like 10 45's this dude had up, and this was the only one I won

Nice one, though - Monk Higgins-produced northern with a strong ballad flip.

The best cuts are the American cover songs which are quite good. Also comes with two different covers, think the sequencing of songs is also different on the two versions. Plus can be had for relatively cheap off of eBay.

Dallas has been bone dry for a minute so we had to waste a lot of gas and take some wrong turns and hopefully stumble onto some heat... Finally it paid off.

Does anyone know much about the Dallas experimental jazz label Daagnim? The top 2 B&W records are on it and I haven't seen it before.

This Geater Davis is the shit (House of Orange,1971)... I'm feelin it. Nation Time is up for trade.

I can see where people could hate on it. I'm feeling it so far though. I'll let it settle in and see how I feel in a week though.

PS...I'll get to the PM's later tonight.
