Can anyone here recommend me a program for Windows that has an autochop feature like fruity slicer/beat slicer? and I have to be able to save the chops as wave files.or did they include that chopshop feature on the newest mpc 1000 OS?Thanks.

    Adobe Audition
    Cool Edit
    Soundforge

ANY CUT & PASTE software will do the job. I used to work with Wave Studio that came free with my soundcard (Creative Arts ). Crappy program, but cutting was easy and convenient.

I don't like Audition that much. My favorite for cutting is Soundforge. Cool Edit is easy to use...

I still haven't used my MPC1000s computer compatibility really. I'm not a luddite, just a slow lazy fool.

Word, but recycle is only for mac right?

Recycle runs on PC as well. But the sliced sample will be saved as Propellerheads' .rex format (not .wav nor .aiff). You're safe with Recycle if you only mess with software. But for MPCs...I'm not sure if the new models of MPC recognise rex format. So beware.

you can import rex files into the pc mpc program creator (i think it's called bluebox) and it will map the slices onto pads automatically.

Recycle imports wav's, akp's and all of that good stuff.

I've found that manually chopping the beats (with software) is much better because you have more control. You can edit out pops and unwanted noise and play around with timing (adding a few ms before the drum hits for some swing). If you put that little extra work into chopping everything up nicely the kit will sound that much better.

    yes!!!!!!
plus eq and compress and time steach each sample to a locked bpm grid for true sample accurate sequence frames

Before I had my mpc1000, I used FL. Inside FL there is an addon called Fruity Slicer/Beat Slicer which slices up your samples by sound waves, and allows you to adjust the slicing yourself. I like it because I don't have to save every single sample. I can save them all and even adjust the chops..

The problem is that the beatslicer program which allows to save the samples only was a demo program. 2nd problem is that fruity slicer only chops the samples inside fl, so you can't save the chops!
