It's kind of weird, trippy, and quirky on a happy jazz tip. I enjoy it because it's has a fun, upbeat sound to it. It's a unique LP. By the way, how much is it going for these days? I got mine for 5 bucks from a guy that sold records from Dorton Arena back around 1988.
Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak
P.S. Note that I made some edits to my previous post.
i just checked on a couple completed ebay auctions, but it's around the $10 range. Music of El Topo seems to get a little more though.

Oh. I saw some dude was selling it on his record site for around 75 dollars. I found that odd, but I've never seen that record again since I bought it. I have no conception of its availability in other cities and states though. I know they're from out west, so I would assume you left coasters see the LP on the regular.
Oh shit. I bought this CD in Seattle at a Borders Books when I lived there for a summer in '98. Vitamin D's production is superb...
the rhymes though were a bit
H-Bomb goes off though.
Can't believe any of you folls know about this. I'm tryin to find my copy of the 1st Tribal Compilation which is better than Do The Math in my opinion. Hussein was always my favorite rapper in the crew too. I need to track down the 1st Sensimilla demo which was heatery! Dudes had their own sound back then. Too bad the rest of the world didn't get to hear it. There is even a Born Supreme-H Bomb song that was dope from that era too.
Oh Shit! For real I would have left Seattle way before I actually did if I didn't hear this and eventually hook up with those dudes. Insane production and I was digging the rhymes too. Way too many cuts to mention but I've always been especially partial to Narcotik "Game of Checkers" and Ghetto Children - "Listen Up".
Y'all can't fuck with my 24 X 36 Do the Math promo poster!
I wonder what those Equilibrium 12" go for these days. A huge chunk of them (like 700 or so) went straight to Japan so they are RAER in the US...

I got that shit, too!! I'ma have to pull it out and blow the dust off it! That, my Table Manners 2 LP and that other Seattle group with the DJ who was a UPS or FedEx driver or something like that.
I'ma dub all my DV One tapes to CD, too. WET TOAST!!!!
Herm
DV ONE! That fool was the illest 6 foot 4 breakdancer you ever saw! Don't catch a size 15 sneaker in the jaw while that dude was windmilling. You'd be LAID UP...
masta ace "slaaughta house" is the shit that i know is dope. not "slaughta hose" which is on some murdering you;re garden shit, but ":slaughta house" which is a dope album...peace to ellay khule.
relatively new one that i'm listening to RIGHT NOW. ooh....shit is gravy....especially late at night browing the internet. I'm not familiar with much of his work but, seems like his production is more refined, with drums crispier and compositions more precise with the more recent output:
After hanging out on SS for almost 4 years, here's a few that I think are under the radar.
"Thrill is Gone" opens the lp w/ some serious fuzz and string action. Really great tune. Solid soul front to back.
Heavy female UK psych/jazzy prog. No Rick Wakeman here! 3 horns, flute and heavy wah-wah.
This album has a really spooky/distorted organ sound. Semi-funky, but never too slick like the fuel lp's. The link between his work on Blue Note and Arista.
like Big_Stacks said: Kaos "Court's in Session" (Todd Terry, King Grand and Kenny Dope in full effect!) Krown Rulers "Paperchase" (I think it'S even better than the Kaos)
by the way: Do you know King Grand's second LP from '93 ? (not to forget the other songs he did on some german compilations from '92 to '95)

it was mentioned in a thread this week, so NO! It will not qualify.

Cedar Walton- "mobius"
Eddie Henderson- "realization"
Irma Thomas- "in between tears"
to name just a few..
are these albums really "dope"?
I've had them both and neither struck me as a must have. Although what do I know? I'm telling folks to stop sleeping on that Kashif
kashi makes the illes cereal and cereal a bars.

Tommy Guerrero- Soul Food Taqueria
his best LP, imo. also known as (and available at half the price) as 'the African Connection', Larry Willis is the key.
