this morning I was diggin for a customers order in the back of the shop and I came across Primal Scream's "Screamadelica"...this record is supposed to be the queen's tit of 90s drug rock, I should like it then, I have listened to it in the past and didnt like it, so I figured a decade may have made this platter a little more acessible to me...no, sounds like bad techno pop to me still, why is this thing celebrated?name your head scratchers....

Hot Rats is good, but yeah, otherwise, I don't get the allure.

    I'm right there with you....

As a dealer of rock LP's here are three things you can say about a record that will almost guarantee it not being sold....

    1) Sounds Like Frank Zappa
    2) Sounds Like The Grateful Dead
    3) Sounds Like Steely Dan

Weird, as all three of those bands have lots of fans.

"Annie Got Hot Pants Power" - Syl Johnson[/b]
I love me some Syl, and I love soul songs about hot pants, but what the hell is the appeal of this tune? Doesn't go nowhere, yet connoisseurs of older soul think this is Syl's shining moment - WTF??

    Iron Butterfly

Oh yeah, and while I dig it I think Stark Reality is overrated.

LOL at Iron Butterfly being "celebrated."

Yeah I mean they aren't celebrated but I was going through some stuff I'd bought cheap awhile back and realizing just how bad they were. Like absolutley god awful turd after turd.

Who here really likes that album on Embryo by Brute Force (the Ohio funk band, not the cultish singer-songwriter from New Jersey)? I couldn't get into it, although it has some nice guitar from guest musician Sonny Sharrock...
