so a few years ago when everyone had a boner for diplo i was in the neighborhood so i caught him up at milk in SF. they were showing weird swedish oddball porn with like unicorns and robot albinos all naked and shit and then this lil midget bushwick bill mofo started hitting on me and touching my leg i mean that dude was all fucken juiced on like angel dust or something but yeah, lil fucken midget man hands on my legs, i mean, im slightly homo but i was not digging that shit. luckily his friends he was with came and picked him up like a puppy so all was good, but yeah, i think sometimes the video sets the mood for some weird shit.

one of the dudes i do Pure Fire with has shown this like 2 0r 3 times... good film...

other stuff we've shown i've liked:

some german film that was footage of people fighting oil well fires in kuwait that was just insane... like cosmic hell

99 cent kung fu movies from the dollar store

    the muppet show

    80 blocks from tiffanys

    star blazers

wwII vintage loony tunes with plenty of hitler in them

Any Germans strutters know if Die Sandmenschen is on video/DVD? That would be great on a big screen with funky beats over...
According to the pic, I guess you mean Sandmaennchen? There is plenty of DVD stuff around, simply search for Sandmaennchen.

    This should melt some faces

I've played this while djing, its perfect with any tech, hard breaks. really rythmic film too. looks like it syncs with the music.

playin funk... its got to be shaw bros. played out or not

  • i dont know where they get it, but the stuff they show at funky sole is pretty off the hook. two projectors running, one usually with 70s educational stuff that looks straight outta the wgbh archives, one showing either the same or wigged out 60's and 70's cartoons. the slide projector usually just shows slides of 45's and funky sole fliers. i will admit to just staring at the films for awhile, but it definitely adds to the atmosphere

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Last week at Saint-Ex here in DC Boy Howdy was playing an endless montage of party scenes and eye candy from 60s B-movies. Said his video store friend compiled it.

When I worked at the Smithsonian I procured several hours of archival NASA control room footage and promotional films on VHS. If you don't think its too early MTV, I'll dub you a copy...

The shit, though, would be Pan Am promo footage.
