2) Bust A Move (2 player setup)
3) Pinball (no magnets or cheap shit)
4) Dance Dance Revolution
5) Crazy Taxi
Home Run Derby
Thundercade
Spy Hunter (sit down version only please)
Karate Champ
The CRAZY shit was after beating it once, reaching Earth -
when the second time around starts and it's like 5x faster...
then it was literally
Mortal Kombat one and two
and NBA JAMS
Did you ever reach the Sun?
Or is that a bullshit level my friend came up with?
Galaga/Ms. Pacman combo table
Super Off Road
X-Men
Lethal Enforcers
Rampage!!!
LOL ... I don't think I did...
especially with multiple players.
street fighter ii
mortal kombat like right when it came out
congo bongo
jungle hunt
crystal castle even though it gets hatted on alot
galaga
ms pac-man
Does that count?
pleadies
phoenix
SF2 (changed the game)
double dragon
ahhh... wasted youth.
Final Fight
Streetfighter 2
Super Hang On
Track & Field
Virtua Cop (One of the bright spots for SEGA during this time. And a genre that would later spark Time Crisis, etc.)
Virtua Fighter 2 (A sentimental pick. But nonetheless, one of the first and best 3D polygon fighters. Another classic by SEGA.)
Samurai Showdown (Another classic from the long forgotten SNK. Real Headz know the one slash where it takes away like half the life of the opponent!)
Daytona USA (damn, how could I forget! ANOTHER classic by SEGA.)
Sega Rally (Yet another racing game, during the same time as Daytona USA. Bringin' back good memories...)
Robotron 2084
Track & Field
Hypersports
Xevious
Windjammers
Vendetta
The Punisher
SF 2
Outrun
actually still play some of these from time to time with the mame emulator.
That's right!
Back around '94 I picked up a used Neo Geo gold system in Akihabara, Japan.
Brought it back home and I was video game God for a good minute.
Just sucked because the games cost like $200. on average.
But let me tell you.... Samurai Showdown 1 & 2, King of Fighters '94 (or was it '95)??
Some classic, all-out war sessions went down at 103rd and Central Park West by God.
And NO ONE was fucking with me. Not Jamal. Not Silq. Not 8-Off. Not U God. Not Chris. None of 'em.
Yeah that makes my list,
Along with
Spyhunter
Shinobi
SF2
& The beat 'em up where you have to fight Ninjas and could hang off lamp posts to do super kicks. EDIT: Just came to me - Shadow Warriors & apparently Americans would know this as Ninja Gaiden
Honoury mention, Rolling Thunder & the 2p / 10p machines that in my younger days never had a shake alarm, so were always good for a quick shoulder barge and a few more goes.
Ghosts & Goblins
Mooncresta
Bubble Bobble
Scramble
Galaxians
2 : Battlezone
3 : Gauntlet
4 : Mr Do!
5 : Defender
Aah the 80s...
oh man good call, what a great pinball game.
OH HELL YES!!!!!
and Raiden, how could i forget!, and Xevious, and virtua fighter kicked ass, drunken master style.
Ghosts and Goblins...
awww shit,
Good Call! I am more of a Pinball person ( tales from the cript is my shit! ) but
I use play this game alot :
Also another favorite ( before I knew that is what I'd actually do in ''real'' life_)
I usually went with the puzzle and driving games. Pole Position...that California Drivin one. Mortal Combat WAS especially dope.
What about PUZZLE FIGHTER THOUGH!!!
where were you when i needed you most dream girl?
i remember one time a girl came to our local row of arcade machines, much foot shuffling and ground staring ensued.
[sigh]man, we could have been so sweet... [/sigh]
p.s as far as pinball went, it was all about the Addams Family for this kid.
The only arcade game I ever pumped enough quarter in to beat:
I remember this one being fun as shit:
p.s as far as pinball went, it was all about the Addams Family for this kid.
Pinball rules, i used to like arcades in the 80s/90s aswell and spent lots on Turtles in time, Street Fighter II etc. we even made fake coins out of old swedish 5 ??ringar that we wrapped tape around and cut so they were as thick as the 5 kronor (which was what you could pay with)..
But regarding pinball, favourite games are (no particular order)
Star Wars (not the videopinball but the one with a nice plastic deathstar and one ramp..)
Fish Tales
Whodunnit (only for the penthouse party mission )
Monster bash
Addams family
Also the "new" lord of the rings pinball ain't bad at all..
