"It may be liquor, it may be blood"[/b]Judith and Holofernes, the latest coterie taking refuge with us at Vanguard Squad, will be playing a few shows in the east. They are a band from San Francisco who play an indified version of traditional Portuguese ballads known as "fado." Their music embodies saudade, and the ten thousand things that involve love, death, betray, revenge, friendship, debauchery, excess. Their new record, Abra??a a Tristeza ("Embrace the Sadness"), is something I am very proud to be associated with. If you want to learn more about the band:http://www.vanguardsquad.com/comrades/judith.phphttp://fadocore.com/If you want to listen to some of their songs:"Draw the Line" - "Maybe Liquor, Maybe Blood" - "It's Harder to Break A Habit Than A Promise""I can no longer draw the line/ Where my hatred for myself ends/And my hatred for you begins"If you want to watch a video: (by Marlene Angeja)"Throw Your Skinny Body Down""So why don't you throw yourself into it?"The shows are:Saturday, August 5th, 2006[/b]at Quiet Storm - 430 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA.8pm -- $5Playing with Like Summer and Januarhttp://quietstormcoffee.com/http://www.likesummer.com/http://www.myspace.com/januarTuesday, August 8th, 2006[/b]At Toad - 1912 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA.8:30pm -- FreePlaying with A.K.A.C.O.D. If any strutters come to the Brooklyn show, introduce yourself to me (I'll be the ugly one at the merchandise table), and I'll give you a pre-release copy of their new album (not due out until September)."I call out at nightJust to push my luckIn the mood to fightOr in the mood to fuckI call out at nightWarning of a floodIt may be liquor, it may be blood."Hope to see you there,~Bam

oh shit, that's my neighborhood. might be trying to check this out. But that address should be '5430' Penn Ave (i think).
You're right. I fixed the handbill. Thank you. You should come out. It's not nearly as depressing as I describe.
PeacefulJoshteculation,
Thanks man. I love you. Next time, though. For shrimp.
yeah, i'd like to check this out. Are you coming on tour with them?
I have different things pulling me in different directions for Saturday night... do you know, are they playing last (or towards the end?)
peace
They are first, so likely at, or just after, 8pm.
I don't think I'll be there, but depending on their travel route, and how much room is in the van, I wouldn't mind getting my another state of mind on.
At Pete's Candy Store - 709 Lorimer St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY.
