Which film are you saying is cloaked in "feelgoodism"? It certainly wasn't United 93. United 93 was the complete polar opposite of a feel good movie. (did you even see it?)

Internet hype gone too far. A film that can't possibly live up to the concept but is destined for cult status anyway. A big, annoying cult.
The hype was short lived and they missed the boat frankly. I don't think anyone cares about it anymore. Besides, I don't think it will be nearly as campy as everyone is hoping.

Aside from the very last 20 minutes of the film, which admittedly descend into overwrought Spielbergian sentimentalism, Schindler's List, as Dabney put it, was incredibly raw and gritty, and it honestly doesn't feel like any film made before or since. Aside from that ending, it certainly doesn't feel like anything else Spielberg has done in his career. And much deserved awards aside, It's tough for me to fathom anyone sitting through Schindler's List and coming away feeling like they just sat through some "typical Hollywood" fare. Despite our popular convictions, Hollywood does produce works of art from time to time. That which is both critically and commercialy successful ("The Godfather" anyone?).
And no, I really don't see how you managed to view United 93 as a "Hollywood" "feel good" movie with "Towering Inferno" like "hero-worship."
