Comments
lime wedge squeezed
A dash of olive juice
tomato juice
and enjoy!
my basic recipe is
1/3 vodka
2/3 clamato
dash of worcestershire sauce
liberal dash of tobasco
cayenne pepper
celery salt
black pepper
freshly grated horseradish (very important)
lime juice
final icing on the cake is to rim the glass w/ celery salt. Swish the lime around the edge of the glass first so the salt adheres.
Aside from the clamato, this is pretty much my recipe. Except I would also favor Crystal hot sauce or Red Rooster over the Tabasco. Pickled green beans are a good garnish, along with celery.
i make my fair share of them at work, but only drink them here and there. When i was young my dad used to make me and my sister drink a glass of V8 juice every night at dinner. I used to chug it then gag like crazy. In retrospect appreciate him trying to grow us up healthy but damn dude, give a guy some veggies and call it a day.
That's different. Gotta try that.
Lime vs. Lemon????
Both. The best bloodies I've ever had were at Madame Jumele's (RIP) in Saratoga Springs, NY. Lemon, lime, salt, pepper, worcester, tabasco, tomato juice, fresh horse radish, garlic...that may be it.
God, what a drink. Need one of those this weekend...
Damn that sounds good! I haven't had a real Bloody Mary in years...
Yeah, it was great. Served in a huge mason jar, we'd sit on the porch on Friday afternoons, play dominoes, eat the burger special, and drink two of those. Best way to start the weekend.
That place was a shithole, but I miss it for that drink alone.
vodka
fresh black pepper
fresh horseradish
Lee and Perrins Worcestercire Sauce
tobasco (just a little)
fresh lemon
a couple of olives
a celery stick
My favorite is a bloody Caeser (add clam juice)
Is that place still around? My wife's folks live in Schenectady. I could hop over to Saratoga the next time I'm up that way....
Tomato Juice
Vegetable Juice
Absout Peppar
Beet Horseradish
Celery Salt
Lime
Worcheshire Sauce
Regular Tabasco
Over Ice w/ Celery Stick.
I can keep the mix in a container in the fridge and add vodka when needed.
Shit was like havin a V-8 w/ a V8 engine!!!
As soon as I saw the title of this thread, for some reason I said to myself "I know BATMON started that."
Seersucker + Bloody Marys = grown summertime essentials?
In the Harlem backyard on Sunday afternoon w/ ___________________playing.
ingredients
4 1/2 pounds yellow tomatoes, cut into chunks
1 cup vodka
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Tabasco
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
Ice
12 celery sticks
A-1 steak sauce(stated above) or BBQ sauce. Something to add warmth to the bright tomato flav.
I've seen parlsey floating in one before.
There a place in Tribeca called Walker's. Their Bmarys are bangin'. They have a wide range of hot sauces for u to choose from, so the bartender can add your pick to the shaker before the pour!!!
I'm at work, and you're killing me right now!
Bocce and Caesers after work.
