My daughter attended a party on her College campus this past week and while telling me about it made the comment that "All the guys looked like they belonged on Soulstrut". She goes out digging with me from time to time and has a pretty good idea what at least some of y'all look like.So I asked her to find me a photo of what she considered the SS Stereotype and this is what she sent me......is she on target, close, or totally off the mark?

Not on target for me mayne. I would never wear those jeans, those shoes, that hoody or THAT bag. Plaese to get serious. I have a Bally bag.

    Cuffing is also excessive.

Here's a pic of Young Phonics and friend, though, that coincidentally appeared yesterday in the Times:

Her room, obviously--his room contains a large number of moulded plastic toys designed by grafitti has-beens.

There are a few stereo type looks that are missing:

    -The AP new age look

    -The davesrecords look

-The Fauxrillz "I'm important" khaki look

-The Moroco Mole "I'm so misunderstood" emo look.

I know I'm forgetting a few.......Feel free to add on and find corellating pics.

Totally off the mark. I never dressed like that, nor any strutter that I had met dresses like that.

  • SwayzeSwayze 14,705 Posts
Actually I think DOR looks like the typical strutter...

Except now that I think about it... I've met quite a few strutters and none of them looked like DOR... So I guess that shoots that theory down....

so your daughter was shocked and disapointed that the average college student wears a sweatshirt and jeans?

She didn't say anything about being shocked or disappointed....actually I think she's attracted to the geeky, nerdy look.

I did ask her to dump a guy once after I came home and caught him playing Hacky-Sack on my front yard.
