    don't know if it's on that compilation, but phyllis dillon - right track is really good.

    i feel like there's some good stuff by nora dean on the treasure isle label too.

    IMO her "Call To me" tune made by Coxsone could be one of the finest examples. Blingingly stupid that Soul Jazz has left it off everything they've released.

    fair enough, but there's a few songs off that LP that are definitely on the same vibe, and i'd gladly slide them into my rocksteady mix.

    Also, on the Dusty Springfield covers tip, I always liked the Breakfast in Bed cover by Lorna Bennett. The vesion with Scotty on is dope too, but as they're early 70s they're probably a bit late to be considered rocksteady.
