so they just changed their name to confuse me 27 years later?
It's but a mere detour on your musical journey.
EXACTLY! i'm glad that my journey led me to younger generation...such a sick track. granted, i should have known this track 20 years ago and i should already be sick of it or something...but it's fresh to my ears. in more ways than one.
i'll email you some soundfiles k....pm me your email addy.
Did you like this one? I picked up a nice WLP of it last weekend, but was kinda disappointed. I likee the psychee and all, but that dude's vocal style kinda bums me out. I actually liked that last, long, slow song the best.
Glad to see you found the Ollie N, even if you overpaid - you were after that for a minute. I still regret not picking up the rinked copy I saw for a dollar a couple years ago, at least to check it out.
the general tone of those comments is sarcasm - I didn't overpay for the Nightengale and I haven't listened to the Circus Maximus yet but wouldn't expect it to be my thing.
cool. didn't look too promising but I figured i'll ask, cuz it was Plunky. Any other projects of his that are dope though? Besides the Oneness of Juju releases?

that's an understatement! "can you get down with me" is so ill...and i think the lp has the same mix as the 12" even though the price difference is...about 20 to 1 12" to lp! is that one for sale in the shop?
LOFT STYLE
dope! have you had that one in the shop before?
and is that grandmaster flowers' marking on the sessomatto?
yeah you're right, it's a bit of a terd. I wasnt expecting much (considering it was 1988) but was hoping for at least 1 or 2 tracks that were ok. Alas, it's just too...um...80's. It seems like every track has the exact same beat. A single bass drum followed by a single terrible, synth'd snare hit (if you know what I mean). never know, it might grow on me but for now
Slow week, I ripped the cover of the Art Pepper when I removed the sticker (doh), the Phineas Newborn is amazing, I never had any of his stuff before I had only read about his life, seriously jaw dropping piano playing, really rare local press too. The Nancy Wilson is one of the better ones to get because it's pretty bluesy, haven't listened to that Staple's or Jimmy Bee yet, should be pretty standard though. The 45 is Sonny Charles - Black Pearl

they were the furious five prior to recording that record.
