    find a picture. copy its address

    EXAMPLE

    click 'my home' on the top menu

    click 'edit personal information, password, etc'

    scroll down and paste the address of the picture in the 'URL to your picture' box

    simple way: find url of image you like online and change in "your home"

    harder custom fany avatar way:

    1. find the image you want to work with online or in your own images on your pc

    2. save image (right click, save as)

    3. gather your images, open in photoshop

    4. collage, animate, distort or apply any filters/effects you want

    5. size at 80 pixels by 80 pixels (image -->adjust image size)

    6. hit "save for web" to optimize the image

    7. choose jpeg or gif based on what kind of image you have (photo vs vectors, etc)

    8. upload to host of your choice, your own website or imageshack, etc

    9. change your avatar in "your home" by typing in address of image

    10. voila!
