Living without cable, I've turned to internet radio as a means of entertainment. As an LA transplant, I'll listen to KCRW at times, but it doesn't really deliver on several levels. I'm looking for a station that plays a lot of vintage straight jazz, as well any stations with solid funk/soul rotations, or any stations that go way out there in terms of regional music. I can appreciate bluegrass, gospel, whatever.

  • check out soul-24-7 radio... not sure the exact address, but I'm sure a google search can fix that. Adrian Leach and Mark Taylor do a great show there called Happy Jazz, lots of latin fire.

the guys at Wefunkradio.com do a pretty good job. they have a nice mixture of hiphop, soul and funk.
you can stream about 400 (i guess) shows ?? 2hours. (Tracklists available)
back then you could even download them. I still have about 2 Gb on my HD.

If you like some leftfield alternative stuff than check www.fm4.at those guys are doing a good job. But it is not straight funk or rap. It is a wild mixture of non-comercial music.

    Peace

Be sure to check out my man Avi Shack, he's been doing a show called "These are The Breaks" for 9 years! Probably the best show I've ever heard (as far as selection), he's got some of the deepest crates in Canada, so he always drops gems!

Just check the track listing, shit is official!

Agreed. Dan's show is a must. Adrian's Happy Jazz is also a must. You can hear several mixes from him on Waxingn Deep, since he's basically a guest host.
