Music to commit to your old lady by...

I need help with putting together a compilation CD. My girlfriend and I aren't getting married, but we are having a ceremony with family and friends, at which we will be committing to each other as 'life partners'.After the ceremony, we intend to have a receiption for those who witness our commitment, and as a thank-you to those who came out (some of them from overseas)I want to give them a disc containing songs - that are both funky and reflective - about relationships, commitments, life etc.I was hoping I could get some help from the 'strutters. I will obviously place my and my partner's individual 'stamps' on this compilation, but I need some outside inspiration too. Genre is NOT an issue. Feel free to throw anything in here.PEACEGoblah

    that's funny, cuase i'm doing the same thign as the poster, and for a second we considered making our own stevie wonder's greatest hits to hand out.

    if you only put on 1 stevie song, don't take "all i do" cause that's what i'm using

    Heh, 'Knocks Me Off My Feet' is a shoo-in.

    I'm tempted to include more Stevie, but I think I'm going to have to hold back, so you needn't worry about me duplicating your choice.

    I too am working on a wedding mix...here are a few numbers we've got:

    Stevie- I Was Made to Love Her
    Aretha- Baby, I love you
    Linda Lyndell- What A Man
    the 8th Day- She's not just another woman (the man/woman tandem)
    Brenton Wood- Gimme a Little Sign (because its great)

    All I can remember right now...I'll post more as they come to me. Hell, I've got until Sept, so its not too big an issue.

    I wish! I actually think it's going to clock in at about the same cost as a small-gathering wedding (50 peeps) usually does over here in South Africa: R30 000 (conversion=$5000). I am not sure if that's considered cheap or expensive in USD? It's about three months' salary here!
