Y'all should know who Salih Williams is by now. He produced Still Tippin. He produced Paul Wall's Sittin Sideways, Mike Jones' Back Then, Big Moe's Purple Stuff, Wreckshop's Power Up, etc. Anyway I've been working on an article on Salih that will be running in the Austin Chronicle this Thursday. Salih's a veteran of the Austin music scene and also happened to graduate from the same class at Reagan High (not Ronald Reagan, don't worry.) as my wife. Way back when Salih was in a band with his 3 brothers called Sixx AM. When their 2 sisters joined in they were called 6:02. These archive photos are simply way too cool not to share:

Right now these dudes have up to 4 songs currently blowing up the radio in Austin. "Sittin Sideways" was 1st place on the nightly call-in countdown on The Beat 104.3 the last time I checked. "Back Then" is all over the place. "Still Tippin" is still lingering. And Tomar has a cut he did with Ying Yang Twinz that is just starting to emerge.
Big thangs, mane.
SAH-lih (Like SAW then the first part of LIP minus the P?)? Or does it rhyme with volley?
Maybe SALE-EE?
So it rhymes with volley (sorta)?
Thanks.

Agreed. When the info is laid down without the bitterness, it's goes down a lot sweeter. [stalk]Thanks Archaic for the pics & articles. [/stalk]
I do have to call attention to these interesting turns of phrase though:
