(i couldnt resist re-editing just a little bit)
very nice cut...works just fine as an instrumental (with rhythm tracks and horns of course). very competent playing...wonder who the band is?
not bad - I like that bit of feedback near the end.
Somebody with the info will pop up soon.
I don't recognize it, and if its something common it must be retitled cuz I tried searching everywhere it should be and came up with nada.
I'll second DigDug, never heard that before.

Agreed, though the mix that's posted is a version w/ horns that don't appear on the Rampage issue (as far as I can recall).
Though I don't know much about his personal history, I seem to remember hearing that the Bob who works at People's Records here in Detroit used to be in the Ramrods. I was always under the impression that the Ramrods recorded locally, as it seems like Bob has been around forever. Bell had strong ties to Michigan through the licensing of Al Green(e)'s first records, as well as through their involvement with local labels like Art Beagle's "Palmer", so I suppose it's feasible that it was recorded here and then sent to NY to be presseds. In any case, I'll see what Bob has to say about it.

wow, i would really like to hear that Ramrods track, is it possible for anyone to post a mp3 ?
Try here
the Ramrods that Bob( aka Bootsy X) played with are a Detroit punk group from the late 70's/early 80s - no relation to the East Coast funk group.
Bell Sound Studio is also unrelated to the 'Bell' label to my knowledge - Bell Sound was one of the most popular studios in NYC - closed in 1975?

As soon as I typed that I was thinking it was probably a different Ramrods. Didn't know enough to discriminate b/w Bell Studios and the label Bell, though.
thanks for clearing this up, mystery solved!!!
