Live albums that you just know aren't really live

The truth is that a lot of "live" albums aren't completely live. It's quite common for bands to do overdubs in the studio to fix screwups, bad notes, etc. So even albums recorded live that truly are largely live might have some studio sprucing up. It's why some live albums make a point of saying "recorded live with no overdubs". The beauty of bootlegs of live shows is you get to find out just how good (or bad) a band really is.

Yeah, KISS fixed up their live albums...but really, do people go to KISS shows because they're master musicians and they want to appreciate how they play their instruments? I don't think so.
