Toronto Heads: When are Star Trek conventions?

This is a serious question. My parents really like star trek and want to go to their first big convention. They also said they would bring me a long, and that I could do whatever I want during the day in Toronto while they learn klingon. Do these things happen often? I know there are some nerds out there, I have even discussed magic the gathering with a few of you. Now it's time to come out of the closet and help me get free air-fare to Toronto. KHAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

My only hope was that one person would drop the knowledge before the clowning begins.

    That's always a risky decision...

However, 8 seconds of googling came up with this:

My Star Trek hommie told me that the animated series has an episode where LT. Uhura takes command of the ship. Can anybody confirm this.

No, but I will say that the animated series is awesome. If only because they took no advantage of the medium and basically drew what you would have seen on TV (shitty back-drop sets and all).

MEATY: I AM NOT AFRAID TO START A DISCUSSION ABOUT STAR TREK, NOR OF THE SUBSEQUENT CLOWNING.

Not sure, but the video for "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" is seriously classic. It features everyone wearing t-shirts that say, if I remember correctly, "What is a Hobbit." But the kicker is at the end, where Leonard Nimoy wearing a shirt that says "What is a Leonard Nimoy[/b]."

There's a compilation of both spock and kirk's music, my friend had it and it was... uhh... interesting.
