Power supply replacements

i have this shoebox sized sub woofer that i have had hooked up to my bedroom system for years and in my recent move to a new place the wires got exposed on the power supply...no lie, blue spark style. i have tried to interchange with some leftovers from old answering machines, an old Gemini mixer, etc, but no bump-bu-bump-bump. Also my 05 Pro makes a weird humming noise and i have myself half convinced that its the power supply. Any tech info you guys can throw my way would be appreciated.Dr joel
