There is of course, perhaps the originator of the multi-instrumental full frontal assault, eric dolphy. 
Anthony Braxton with his seemingly endless arsenal. (1978 in the tradion LP features a crazy ornithology on contrabass clarinet) 
"If dolphy played bass clarinet, i have to play contrabass. sweater."maybe the greatest: roscoe mitchell-respect originators. 
and then you could get into a the whole euroscene, guys like evan parker 
or peter brotzmann 
don't even mention rahsaan roland kirk.
post em up as you see fit. to me, these guys are amazing and rarely does their playing sound remotely similar.
