Looking for slept on groups or cuts that are bouncy and fun with that funky edge. I guess I'm thinking Stairsteps, Whatnauts, Sylvers, maybe even Moments. Cuatras Monedas y Gregory is another good example. But slept on! and Lead singer doesn't need to be 11.I'm putting this one on ORANGE ALERT people so please try to come up large if you can. Thank you for your consideration and time.

dorothy oma and zelpha - got to put it on your mind 45 on chisa.

dope female funk cut, reminiscent of the j5 bounce in my opinion

Co-Sign on Eight Minutes. "Take My Heart" is really special, and can be had for less than $5.

Show me where! I live in Chicago, too, and I've usually seen for upwards of $10!

my shit. my favorite j5 sound-alike is the family plann's "c'mon let's do the breakdown" 45 on m-s. about 5 years later they cut some stuff on drive that's a lot easier to find.

    also worth mentioning:

junior & the soul-ettes (dumb amateurish)
starborn (arrangements kinda tricky, so they sound more like the sylvers)
the osmonds (got off some respectable j5 rips, as well as a surprisingly decent cover of the tempts' "i can't get next to you")
family circle (more in the sweet vein)
ultimate ovation (super amateurish, but kinda weird and charming)
lucky peterson (younger even than mj and real annoying)

that's off the top of my head-- there are a lot more things in this vein that i love.

Been diggin' this slept-on dollar-binner recently:

Modern soul with bubblegum overtones from 82 performed by a family group. Production by Freddie Perren. A number of the songs have that early/middle period Jackson 5 sound IMO.

Some great choices, don't know all but plenty of these are really good..

But ok, now it was the Jackson 5 soundalikes, but what Jackson/Jackson 5 tracks do you guys really like then? I'm not talking about the regular 45s and hits but more like you're personal faves..

    My choices:

    "blues away"
"i wanna be where you are"
(of course better with Willie Hutch but this easily beats Zulemas booooring version)

Cheap mid-70's LP w/ at least a few really good tracks, and very J5-sounding.
