I was talking to my friend. Here's the thing that made me just say no way to the auctions. Guy buys over the years 21 used records and all of them grade VG++? It seems improbable to me that they would all grade that unless: 1) No records in existence 2) Doesn't know how to grade 3) Seller optimism
Shit I remember the thread that started about his auctions. Many, including myself, inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. Good thing I didn't bid on anything. Sorry to hear if anyone got ripped off.
Seller is a fraud! Seller seemed to have auctioned fake grail items with no intention of sending the records. Basically take the money and run. I just received this email from ebay telling me to take action to get any payments I made to this seller back. I cut and paste the email right below:

I dont' understand why dudes do this with RECORDS. Why not do it with something thats gonna pull in like 1000s at once? Would it make a difference if you were prosecuted? I got ripped off by a dude in Mexico recently (which hurts cuz it was a fucking dope and rare record) never showed. Same shit with this dude. Some Ravi shit
This is a real strange situation. Ebay quickly blocked/deleted anything related to this seller (mel9061). None of the auctions can be found... even in completed auctions. Somehow ebay was tipped off very quickly about this seller which leads me to think they are planning to somehow take criminal action against this person.

probably because people wonder "why would someone do this with RECORDS" and they don't raise the same suspicions they would if they were selling something like laptops.

Exactly. It was a scam, with record collectros like us as the mark. Fortunately, this one got found out. Frankly, record collectors are the perfect patsy. They will pay huge money for things other people consider trash. They act all illogical when you put a grail in front of their nose...I'm not saying I'm immune to this behavior (definitely not, in fact). Just saying this is why someone might choose to run a record scam.
