should I use turpentine - has anyone tried this? I just picked up a Blue Note that looks like it got spun during a wasted paint party...---

  • Dude if someone can figure this out I will be so happy

aka, my copy of Ridin Dirty on vinyl has paint specs

aka, I spraypainted indoors and played Stress: Extinction Agenda on the turntable

  • i just left a record soaking in the usual warm CH3CH2oH/H2o cleaning mix... and sure it has no labels now but I'd rather have a playable record with no labels thanks. The paint peeled off pretty easily since vinyl is not really porous. I suppose it would depend on the type of paint though? This was definately your latexy plastic paint, so maybe a spot test submerging an outer edge is worth a shot.

75-95% rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball, let it soak in for a minute or so and rub a bit. This has worked successfully on a couple occasions.
