donny hathaway performing "the ghetto" live. I always wished the live lp was video taped, this is closest I've seen to that.

I gushed about this clip on a previous thread. But anyone who's into Buckley needs to see this. This one tears me up.
The first white performer on the show - and he claimed later he was trashed!
Chaka Khan playing the drums in 1976. Drumbreak!
(what song is that? it's funky as hell!)
Talk about an in depth interview!!
In the meantime check the MARC MOULIN PLACEBO STYLE BALD MEN WITH BREAKS CLIP
Them's some sexy dudes!
That version w/this motal coil(basically the cocteau twins) is gorgeous I heard that version before the Buckley one.I floated out to nerdland to this mortal coil version.
No, he wasn't - it was Dennis Coffey.
Now I remember why I stopped posting on Soulstrut.com about 5 years ago. Aggressive people who hate music.

wtf the fuck is wrong this guy?
Marc Bolan & T.Rex: Baby Strange (Beat Club, 1971)

Look, this isn't about insulting dudes that like This Mortal Coil. I'm not calling anyone a novice, especially not AP. I am simply not standing idly by when someone degrades Tim Buckley, even just a little bit. Buckley is not to be trifled with.
hilarious
This performance is monstrous, too. Seeing the ensemble with Lee Underwood is a rare treat.

This is pretty fucking cool. I'd like to see more shit from this TV show.
Who used that beat first? Bowie or James Brown????
Bowie - for once, JB came in second!
How funny is that. James Brown steals one beat then get sampled a million times.
well, actually it is Carlos Alomar's guitar lick/rhythm and he was the guitar player in JB's and David Bowie's band during the same time..so they both "own" it in some repects...David's record came out first though.
