turntable to computer speakers question (mac)

Hey, thanks in advance for anyone nice enough to take the time to answer my dumb little dude questions.Ok, so I have a turntable that I need to connect to my imacG4 laptop. basically i want it to play out of the speakers that are connected to my computer w/usb and headphone jack.do i just need apreamp/recieveriMic or similar deviceRCA to 1/8'' converter?do i just hook it right to the headphone jack?anything else? anyone else have a setup like this?thanks again.--GNZ
