I' ve listened to Surrounded by Silence recently and I wasnt feelin' it.It might take a few listens or some marinating. Am I missing something,or is that shit just weak like my first impression tells me?I've heard interesting stuff from him in the past so I took the chance.

    That album definitely doesn't weigh up to his previous material but it still has some goods on it. The tracks with rappers all pretty much sucked though and I'm a huge Wu fan.

    It's not so much that the last prefuse album was bad to me, it's more that it's the same thing he's been doing more or less for the last 5 years. What was cool in 2000 isn't really that great now. Plus the MC's sound more out of place than the cut-up vocals on "vocal studies & uprock narratives" did.

    Yeah, great packaging and all.It did sound very 2000-2002.
    He has existed outside of HIPHOP for a while and I think he tried to embrace it more,which turned out to be his mistake.
