At what point do you lose interest in a thread?

The latest Mr. Lurker thread got me wondering this. I was totally feeling it through about page 2, then it just got all . I'd say usually by the middle of page 3 things tend to get a bit too droll for me to keep reading.

  • the longer the thread, the more extreme it is. either make-your-stomach-churn bad, or make-your-day good

  • It depends. Usually when the responses get beyond a paragraph is when I start skimming. The funny thing is, you would think these would be the most well though out posts. But the funny thing is, the only threads that ever have posts that long are about race, class, or mayyyyybe religion, in which case I've read it all before anyway.
