At the moment I'd have to go with one I've had for ages but still really love: Joe 'Youngblood' Cobb - It's LB Time/Bill's Bag on X-Spect-Mo, 2 strong sides.

  • First Thing I Do In The Morning- Joyce Williams (Nickel)

It's the killer groove, the vocal and the flute
that get me every time i listen to it.

    Simple answer for me:

Betty Harris - There's A Break In The Road

Killer vocals. Meters on the instruments. Guitar feedback at the beginning. A Perfect song in my book.

2 quality records. I was just listening to 'Nobody' today.

Right now, I'm gonna have to go with Big Ella's "Too Hot To Hold" on Salem.
Tough tune, and the opening lyrics are just so good:

'I don't claim to be bad, I don't claim to be strong
Girls if your love ain't uptight, I'll have your man & gone'

    and later....

'Man if you try me one time, I bet you come back again...'

    Gets me every time.

  • i feel ya, but i also like the Cold Fire-Badder than Bad and Tony Fox-I've Been Searchin joints too.

And on that note, the Cyril Neville issue 45 is serious business. Both sides are killing it.

    double co sign.
I've also always loved "sexy coffee pot." The drums sound so damn crisp.
