what's the meaning of their logo (between Dead and Prez on the cover)?
No offense to Dead Prez because I think "Let's Get Free" is a great album, but I always thought that was the Snake Eyes tattoo from G.I. Joe. Probably has some I Ching meaning, I remember hearing them mention that a couple of times on that record.
Lyrics about vegetarianism, socialism, eastern philosophy, revolution - I'm all about that record.
Drew, plaese admit that the song "Mind Sex" is painfully cringer.
That and lines like "drink water...8 glasses a day...that's what they say" made me stick to the "Hip-Hop" 12-inch.
I will unapologetically stand by "Mind Sex" as a classic rap "sex" jam.
im not with it. its a weird mix of preachy and too calculated and something else. its weird, cause im into a lot of the shit theyre talking about in the song. i dont know...i guess its not that bad, but i understand why people clown it.
"hiphop" is one of the better joints to come out in the last ten years. howd that get produced? cant be a sample.
we read "be healthy" with my crew this summer and then made a video based on it, switching some lyrics around...my high school crew loves that song. how could i upload a 2 minute video?
i love dead prez. but its a fineline trying to be conscious in hiphop. the whole "revolutionary but gangsta" slogan lacks something imo. i hope they come out with some more classic shit and find a way to get across to people though.

I don't know what the meaning is per se, but I think it is the I Ching letter G. What mythical meaning G holds is Wikpedia's guess.
Revolutionary but Gangsta...haven't you gone over the Warrior Code recently?
They didn't adopt RBG until later in their career I don't believe (in all seriousness), so I don't think that's it. Maybe it's just because they are G's, but I hope not.
Also in all seriousness, as corny as they can be sometimes, they are pretty good lyricists for the most part. I respect the fact that they can stay on topic in most of their songs and that those songs are generally about a specific topic. A lot of better MCs can't do that.
With that said, most of the songs I like by them appear on soundtracks, not their albums.

Prepare for a lot of "Mind Sex" jokes.
It's all about the wage workers.
