Oh Snap! How could I forget AL's? Blueberry pancakes for days, but you'll wait against the wall for an hour on the weekends. And it's litterally next door to Raskin's Needle Doctor. Which isn't open on weekends.

The Breakfast Klub is that spot here!!! The only bad thing about TBK are ther operating hours.

  • DC needs some more good ones. Best breakfast I've had in the last year was at the Lost Dog Cafe in Folly Beach (Charleston), South Carolina. Great little deadhead beach cafe with really good food and coffee.

Happy Tom's on Sunset near Alvarado. Steak with Heuvos Rancheros, Heuvos Charros, etc etc.

In Hollywood there are "The Griddle" and "Cafe 101". They are far too trendy, but you can get pumpkin pancakes with whip cream at the griddle, and great catfish at 101.

  • One of the reasons we moved to our neighborhood (Lake City, Seattle) is that there's three rad breakfast spots in walking distance: 1) The Breakfast Club (surly waitstaff, strange decor) 2) The Bakers Restaurant (strange decor, huge portions) 3) Claire's (huge portions, many after-church protestants, and "the strongest Mahanttans in Seattle--two per customer limit"). I'm averaging two dozen eggs per week. Goodbye, aorta.
