  • Best moment: finding a weird 1976 hometown press LP by a guy who built his own 4-sided, 8-foot high cello out of steel and proceeded to make drone/free jazz using it. It's called "sounds of nothing". hardcore.

Coldest moment: walking around. Damn living in FL I forgot how cold, you know, cold weather was.

Funniest moment: A guy whispers in his friend's ear "you should get that it's worth at least $60" when pallie is holding a copy of ray charles "volcanic action of my soul". I started to laugh as dude quickly put it under his arm looking around to make sure nobody saw.

Picked up an old hold pile at my soon-to-be-gone spot. I can name 10 record stores in my area that have closed in the last 5 years.

quit payin motherfuckers with jheri curls
    quit payin motherfuckers with perms
save your money, start your own business
and you true Africans, will have put hundreds to work
this is our future right here, this out future right here

The Pioneers - Greatest Hits - Trojan 1975[/b] nice mix of mid 60's through mid 70s material.

Only played side one, and it was kinda
but maybe it gets better...the S/T one had some good stuff on it.

Also got a cheap 80's pressing Stax Christmas LP that will come in handy on the radio jawn...couple of sleepers on it, too, like a Sir Mack Rice joint and The Emotions...the cover is a super bum-out:

Also got Force of Nature - s/t - Tommy (CBS) 1974 [/b] with notes by Stevie Wonder! Couple of dope early-disco funk tracks on here, this copy is kinda rough. There are some disco dj's dream drum sequences on here, though.

and Della Reese - Right Now - Avco [/b] per the recommendation of soul strut...

  • damn, i picked up that Jorge Ben awhile ago in Maine for 50 cents, near mint... had no idea it was even worth anything. I think I sneezed on it.

Yep.....found it at a thrift in northwest Phoenix. Picked it up cause the cover looked pretty good and it was pressed in Sweden. Other than that, I truly had no clue. Cover is kinda ..some taped the gatefold together, but the wax is nice.

i have this on 12"... label is different colour and the wax is RED. extra hot.

i often like to mix this with a late 80's easy street frankie knuckles produced jam also called "automatic lover", which features some dope panning vocoder breakdown repeating the title.
