A couple of my friends have applied this term to digging:

BEING SNAKED: The feeling/state you are in when others beat you to a crate of recs aka being beaten to a crate.

SNAKING: Beating somebody else to a crate of recs.

Well, today was quite a snakey day. I was snaked to some rock (no big deal), then I was snaked to 3 good crates of hip hop (still no big deal, but damn).

    I've never been snaked in my whole life, I AM the snake. I get there silently and earlier than the rest, I come back home with all the overpaid garbage.

    I spotted this rare ass funk record from Myanmar at a philly flea a couple years ago... who snatches it from in front of me but our own Wes Gully.

    Another dealer and I were helping to unload several piles of records from a dude's car, he chose his pile, I chose mine, too bad mine had a sleeveless skated Esther Williams and his had two copies, sealed.
