so does it grade the records on how good they are or how rare they are? I remember there being some real weaksauce LPs on the website described as FUNK (no offense Mr. Wermlinger).

I would like to know what 'weaksauce' LP I have 'described' as FUNK on my website. I can't remember that I've reviewed or described records so far. If it was listed or in the picture gallery, it does not mean I called it "FUNK" per se. The website and therefore the lexicon refers to records called "Funky & Groovy Music ....", so the records are more or less pure Funk or only funky Jazz, Soul .... anyway .... Myself I would not publish a public available book with a "how good" coding, because there are too many different tastes and there are too many of them where one collector would say 'top' while another would say for the same 'neglectable'. The book is not the end of discussion about the records it's the beginning. It's not a buying-list or gallery for buying-records - you still have to talk with other collectors about the records to find out how important the record concerning your own taste is. But it gives you a hint that this or that record exists and about the details.
The following is an extract of the lexicons new added rating system ...
*** A reference to the rarity/value of the record. There is not a specific $ value indicated, instead we have used a code system, using a range from "A" (common / or low-value) to code "H" (extremely rare / or high-value). This has been assigned to each record.
Please note however, that these assignments can vary over the years. Also there may be significant differences between local collector scenes due to temporary popularity within such scenes.
What factors were considered for the assignments of the codes between A ??? H to each record:
Surveying of the appearance and price on Ebay and also by lists supplied by authoritative record dealers over the past 5 years
Considering the amount of 'known'-copies through the exchange of information with many collectors world-wide, as well as the general demand and appearance on wants-lists
Although there is a $ sign in the icon, this is not a simple price-guide! Please be aware that 'rare' must NOT necessarily mean it's very expensive, and vice versa. A record can be super rare but due to minimal demand would not reach a high price, or a high-price can simply be the result of a very big demand although there may be many copies known and available.***
This book looks very interesting. I was wondering if the ones you can order from the site or from dustygrooves are the black and white or are they colour?

I keep on telling myself, it seems like everyone on the East got their copies so I gotta be next right, seeing as how I'm in California. (Said as he runs up the stairs to the front door everyday looking to see whether the postman/woman has dropped it off yet.)
Mine came to California early last week. Compared to the color edition, the b&w looks a little more professional. well put together, thanks for the effort!
Ok, this thread needs to move off the front page until I get mine! I'm with Motown in hoping it arrives soon. I wonder if it'll be wrapped in brown paper like other porn they send in the mail.

My book also turned up quite dog eared which I wasn't best happy about
nonetheless a good bit of work Pete, but then with competition like this:
it should be easy
Props to Peter cause this thing is massive!
