good dead monkeys are hard to come by. I traded Danno a pheasant for my copy of Pierre Henry's Messe Pour Le Temps.

good dead monkeys are hard to come by.

...they don't make 'em like they used to.

hcrink belongs at sorabji.com. The blog before the word "blog" was invented. If you read some of the back stories that guy has "hcrink's future" written all over him.

Upon closer examination... does anybody else think that this is perhaps not a bona fide stuffed monkey at all, but is some sort of a terd made from leather and fur that has been stitched together?

    did you read "the boner"?

Several clues need to be examined to determine the authenticity of the monkey-doll:

    --The spindly legs and arms

    --The leathery face

    --The hands and feet

    --The taxidermist's choice of pose

  • Man, this is a tough call. The stuffed monkey is pretty cool, in a warped kinda way.
I mean, who hasn't wanted a monkey at some point in their lives.
Most def gonna fetch over $100.
But eager bidders beware. How is your wife and/or girlfriend gonna react to this 'pet'?
Even worse, what about the 1 night stand that sees this little animal lying beside your bed?
Personally, I have a 10' sailfish on my wall. In the past I have had a stuffed armadillo and a stuffed iguana. I got rid of everything but the sailfish. The others were just to creepy.
As for the monkey, if you won it, you could always make nice little outfits to dress it up. A tuxedo or cowboy outfit would definitely be cool!

Just my two cents, and I probably deserve some change.

Now I'm no expert, but are you supposed to see big ol' stitches on a properly taxidermied work of art?
