There may be Swedish grandma out there somewhere who can make a scrupmtious beef patty, but if we are discussing this with the point of view that people from a place are the best cooks of their domestic cuisine, I would just like to say that a Jamaican doesn't have to live in Jamaica to be making a killer patty. For all we know the best patty maker can be living anywhere right now. That is to say, Toronto will kick your patty ass.

Obviously there's good stuff downtown... but it seems like all the hidden gems are out in the hoods.b,121b,121Patty King in Kensington has shit patties but great doubles. My fav downtown spot for patties is the little bakery inside Bathurst subway station. Used to live just up the street and I went so often one of the girls who worked there would hook me up with two-for-one deals.b,121b,121I love a good patty but I'd have to give the crown to doubles. I'm a sucker for chick peas + curry though.
