  • fans of mal waldron's "the quest" should check this out..recorded the next day with the same line up(almost..i think one player is different) also it is Ron Carter's 1st LP as a leader, I believe

    This is probably an unpopular opinion, but, IMHO, Where?[/b] slays The Quest[/b]. Both great albums though.

    the Mingus Jazz Workshop "Stormy Weather" or whatever it's called (grey cover, pinkish lettering) with the Original Fables of Faubus, that shit's incredible as well.

    If this is the Stormy Weather I'm thinking of with Dolphy's amazing solo intro TOTAL COSIGN. I've listened to that version over and over again.
