Like Motown67 suggests, Stone Soul, Soul Bag, and Mongomania are the pinnacle of his Columbia output(add in All Strung Out, too)...Atlantic LPs, I am partial to Mongo '70 and Mongo's Way.

i'd say "yaina" is more of a nice latin lp with some boogaloo and latin-soul elements...a very nice listen, but no funk jams. just great music. i like mongo too.

seconded...bobo's version of "evil ways" is really good, and his version of "ain't too proud to beg" is also hot. and of course his take on "always there" is amazing...12" is really rare and worth around $200.

I have Saffron and Soul and I love that LP. I want more but I'm in no financial place to going crazy on the Latin Soul. I also love me some Mongo and I have to credit Cool Chris with hooking me up with most of my Latin info and records.
